It
was a beautiful weekend at Lake Anna for the State
campout. Everyone met Friday afternoon at 4 for
the state social. After the social, the Dogwoods
gathered at the Johnsons coach for an impromptu
cookout. Everyone brought their own burgers and
cooked out on the grill. Some members went back
to play Brown Bag Bingo and socialize.
Saturday
morning, a delicious breakfast of pancakes and sausage
was served by the Cardinals. After breakfast the state
meetings were held, then the Dogwoods held their meeting.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals were busy cooking Brats for
a charity lunch that took place at noon. The proceeds
from the lunch went to the Fischer house.
Many members went to tour the Lake Anna winery. It
was a beautiful place and the owners were very informative
about the wines. The wine tastings were great, and
many bottles were sold.
Happy hour was held at 4 at the Johnsons coach. The
state held by a pot luck dinner at 6, followed by
an evening of bingo. Some of the members went back
to the Johnsons to listen to the Nascar All Star race
on the radio.
Sunday morning, everyone met for a continental breakfast
and said their good byes until May. Thank you to the
Johnsons for their hospitality.
The
June meeting will be held at Pocahontas State Park
in Chesterfield, VA. An agenda will be sent out soon.
