Calabash Seafood Restaurant Mechanicsville , VA December 06, 2009 By Sue Nicolella The members met on Sunday, December 6th, at Calabash Restaurant in Mechanicsville , VA. There were 23 members present, plus five guests. Leroy and Mary Wright were our hosts and provided us with snacks for the social hour. During the social hour we packed 15 Soldier Care Packages for our servicemen in Afghanistan that do not receive any letters or packages from home. Everyone brought items and we signed cards and put a picture of our Chapter in each box. We are hoping they will write back and we will be able to send them items throughout the year. All the members got a lot of enjoyment from out project this year. Our social hour was followed by the chapter meeting where we discussed upcoming events for 2010. The food was excellent as always. Several of our snowbirds will be heading south for the winter and will be missed. Our next meeting will be held on January 09, 2010, at the Skilligalee Restaurant in Henrico , VA.
