October 2007
There were two campouts this month going on at the same time for the Dogwoods.
For the lucky retirees, they spent the whole week at Bill Plemmons down in NC. They had a nice time at Bill Plemmons. The Boyettes, Dances, Woolards, Armstrongs, Brocks and Moyers attended.
Darlene and David adopted two Shih-Tzu male pups (Bear & Peanut) Wednesday before the rally, then during the rally they purchased a brand new Winnebago Vista!!!
Wednesday we celebrated the Dance's 59th anniversary. The photo is of all us sitting between two motorhomes. Thursday we went on a bus tour to Victory Junction (www.victoryjunction.org) founded for kids with special needs in honor of Adam Petty and then we visited Richard Petty Museum
The other half of the club, and the officers (where the meeting was held) was at American Heritage in Williamsburg . The weather could not have been better, cool at night and shorts weather during the day. Friday everyone met for Sloppy Joes and cocktails at Mac and Candy's coach, who hosted the weekend. Saturday morning, they served a delicious breakfast casserole and croissants. After breakfast, the Dogwood meeting was held and there was quite a lot to discuss.
After the meeting, some went shopping at the Pottery, while others pigged out at our favorite place, the Peking Mongolian grill. After a leisurely day of relaxing, the group met for drinks and Brunswick stew with the hosts and finished the evening with a game of Pass the Trash, which Mary Wright won.
Sunday morning the group met for danish and juice and said their goodbyes until the November campout. It will be held at Cozy Acres in Powhatan from Nov 9-11. See you there!
