Those Present Were: Ted & Annette Boyette Harold & Mary Anne Moyer Joe & Donna Preissner Mike & Leigh Anne Schuler Leroy & Mary Wright Mary Wright, President, called the meeting to order. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Harold Moyer. Since the minutes of the last meeting were posted online, Leigh Anne Schuler made a motion to dispense with the reading of the minutes and accept the minutes of the last meeting, which was seconded by Mike Schuler, motion carried. Annette Boyette read the treasurers report.Harold Moyer made a motion to accept the treasurer's report and was seconded by Leroy Wright, motion carried. Health and Welfare Report: Ryan Shaver, the grandson of the Boyettes was with them and is definitely recuperating nicely from his automobile accident. Ben Blanks had lung surgery last month and will begin chemo treatments on Monday, September 19 th . Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Birthdays: Betty Lou Woolard 10/05 Melissa Hall 10/12 Sharon Puckett 10/20 Anniversaries: Ted & Annette Boyette 10/03 Guests: Mary Wright introduced guests Richard and Barbara Smith of Powhatan , VA. They are very interested in joining our chapter. Committee reports: Mary Anne Moyer and Donna Preissner reported that the audit of the Treasurer's books were all in order. Wagonmaster report: Harold Moyer reminded everyone of the upcoming campouts. October 21-23 Walnut Hills KOA, Staunton , VA , 540-337-3920 November 11-13 Paramount 's Kings Dominion, Doswell , VA (State meeting hosted by the Cardinals); 800-922-6710 December 4 th – 5:00 pm – Calabash Seafood Restaurant, Mechanicsville , VA Unfinished Business: None New Business: A motion was made by Annette Boyette to fill 15 “Soldier Boxes” at our December meeting with the chapter paying the cost of shipping, seconded by Harold Moyer, motion carried. Mike and Leigh Anne Schuler know of a soldier overseas that they can contact about distributing the boxes. Mary Wright stated that GNR has these nice fiberglass benches sitting around the rally grounds that have been donated by the various states. Virginia at this time does not have one, Chauncey Ayers, our State President has asked each club to donate $75 towards the cost of a bench ($450) listing the State of Virginia chapter names. Mike Schuler made a motion to donate $75 towards the cost of the bench for GNR, seconded by Harold Moyer, motion carried. WIT has now furnished a metal plaque to each chapter/club for the Chapter of Excellence award, which will be a yearly button to place on plaque. The plaque needs our name on it, and a Dogwoods sign can be purchased from The Sign Man for $8.00. A motion was made by Harold Moyer to purchase the Dogwood sign for $8.00, seconded by Donna Preissner, motion carried. Mike Schuler installed the incoming 2011-2012 officers: Mary Wright, President; Harold Moyer, Vice-President; and Annette Boyette, Treasurer. Donna Blanks, Secretary will be installed at the October campout. State Advisory Board Suggestions: None Mary Wright thanked the host Ted and Annette Boyette for providing Saturday's lunch. Cost of $2.00 per person. Motorhome Experiences: The Moyer's generator would not start due to a squirrel chewing a hole in the fuel line fitting at top of the gas tank. Also, the Moyer's hydraulic system is leaking up front but not in the lines. This leak happened at July and August campout. Richard Smith suggested checking the filter in the hydraulic box. The Schuler's are having a fine white powder falling from ceiling of motorhome and they cannot figure out what might be causing it. It may be Carpenter's Ants but not positive. Announcements: Dogwoods gave $25.00 towards the rally for the door prize drawings. 50/50 Winner: The Dogwoods are selling 50/50 tickets during the rally and our half will go to the Alzheimer Research Foundation.
