Report:
Duncan reported that the next campout is a State
Meeting at Bethpage Campground, August 18 -
20th, and in September the State Rally will
also be at Bethpage, September 15 - 17th. Reservations
for August need to be called into Bethpage by
August 1. See State Rally Reservation Form in
WIT magazine for September. There was a discussion
about having two campouts in October, the one
at Bill Plemmons and maybe one around Halloween.
Mary Wright is going to check into this. The
Dogwoods are the host for the State Meeting
at American Heritage, November 10 - 13th and
45 sites have already been reserved for this
campout.
Old
Business:
Cornelia reported that the cost of the web site
for the coming year is $275.00. It had been
voted on last month to continue with the web
site. A proposed change to the Dogwood's Constitution
and Bylaws to read: "The secretary position
is exempted from the two consecutive term requirement."
John McMillan made a motion to accept this change,
seconded by Linda Bakos, motion carried.
Dan
Young reminded everyone that being as the Dogwoods
are host for the November State meeting, we
are responsible for a state charity project.
There was a discussion as to whether we wanted
to do canned goods or donate money to a charitable
organization. Frank Dance made a motion to donate
money to a charity, seconded by Gail Young,
motion carried. Mary Wright made a motion that
we donate money to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
of Virginia, seconded by George Bakos, motion
carried.
New Business: State President, Virginia
McDaniel has asked each President to discuss
with their chapter changing the dates of the
August 2007 state meeting. Originally the dates
had been set for August 17 - 19th at Holiday
Travel Park in Virginia Beach at $35.00 a night,
a savings of $6.00 a night can be had if the
campout is changed to August 24 - 26th. The
Dogwoods have no problem with changing the dates.
Dan Young reported that the nominating committee
had selected the following 2006-2007 slate of
officers: President, Mike Schuler; Vice-President,
Duncan Mills; Secretary, Leigh Anne Schuler;
and Treasurer, Cornelia Mills. This will be
voted on at the August meeting.
Harold
asked for volunteers to serve on the Audit Committee.
Frank Dance and Dan Young volunteered to serve
on this committee.
State Advisory Suggestions: None
Cost
for this campout is $4.50 per person.
There
being no further business, Leroy Wright made
a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by
Gary Harman, motion carried.
Respectfully
submitted, Mary Anne Moyer
Acting
Secretary
