Unfinished business/Committee reports:
Cornelia Mills announced that we would be painting boats after the meeting. Since the theme is 400 years of history, we will be doing other vehicles as well. These are for the table decorations for the rally. We will have a river set up on the tables and it will have the boats, tee-pees and so forth along the way.
Mike Schuler thanked everyone for their help with the Diabetes Fundraiser last month. Annette Boyette said that when Ted delivered the check they appreciated it very much. The August meeting will be a fundraiser for the SPCA and is not just a money fundraiser. Everyone was mailed a list of items to start gathering to bring to the August campout.
The issue of the tent canopy was brought back up. It was suggested that if we had our own tent it would open us up to more places to camp that don't provide shelters, for example, Kerr Dam. Gary Harman made a motion for the club to get two 12 x 12 e-z up tents, seconded by Harold Moyer. The motion was voted on and passed. Gary offered to research and purchase the tents and spend no more than $300 for the two of them. The Grays offered to carry one tent and the Mills offered to carry the other. The tents will be purchased prior to the July campout.
New Business:
The Website is up for renewal again. The cost for the year includes domain name registration at $35 and $20/month for the hosting. A motion was made to continue the website by John McMillan, seconded by Linda Bakos. It was voted on and passed. Linda Bakos will renew her ad for $60 year and it will be updated online. Some suggestions were made to add the agenda to the website and to add a password protected roster. (The agenda has since been added)
Wagonmaster Report:
The Grandparents weekend will be July 27-29 at Cozy acres in Powhatan. It will be hosted by the Mills and the Preissners.
Announcements:
It was suggested that the hosts turn in their agenda for the next campout at the current campout so the people know a month ahead of time what to expect. The hosts will also email their agenda to the webmaster so the site can be kept current. Dan Young also announced that the Dogwood dues are due in September. Also, the roster of members has to be turned into the State in August.
Advisory Board Suggestions:
none
Motorhome Experiences:
Joe Nicollela said he was having problems with a leaky faucet and vibration problems. The dealer has not been able to resolve the problem, so he plans to wtire a letter to Winnebago. The Grays reported that they drove 4,000 miles recently and were happy to say they had no problems. It was suggested that RV Mobility in Iowa is a great place to get parts, and they have a website you can order from. We will post the URL to the site when someone in the group finds it.
Cost for weekend: $7.50 per person
50/50 winner: $20.00 was won by Leigh Anne Schuler
Thanks to the McMillans and Schulers for hosting
There being no further business, Gail Young made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Dan Young, motion carried.
Respectfully submitted,
Leigh Anne Schuler
Secretary
