Unfinished Business:
Donna Preissner & Cornelia Mills presented the beautiful flag that they made out of the vests. Pat Veler will help figure out how to add our name and inception date to the flag.
New Business:
The State Rally is coming in September and the theme is Putting on the Glitz. Everyone is asked to “dress glitzy”. The Dogwoods will handle Hospitality and Games. There will be more information on this to come. State Advisory board suggestions:
There was quite a few suggestions brought up at the Advisory Board meeting that we had to discuss and vote on.
1. Ask WIT to allow us to eliminate one state meeting because of rising fuel prices.
John McMillan made a motion to ask National to change the meetings from 4 a year to 3 because of high fuel prices. Gene Veler seconded, and all were in favor of the change. No particular month was chosen to eliminate.
2. Put Website on paying basis or eliminate.
Duncan Mills made a motion to make the website become 50% self sufficient or eliminate. Everyone voted in favor. With the ads at $8/month, we only need three to make it pay for itself, and two are already sold. Leigh Anne Schuler asked that we appoint someone to handle the advertising.
3. Change some state meetings to meal meetings instead of campouts. Brenda McMillan made a motion to accept dinner meetings vs. campouts for official state meetings. Pat Veler seconded the motion and all were in favor.
4. Enforce the State Charity having only one charity for the year. Duncan Mills made a motion to make the state charity selection at the November meeting for the following year, with the May campout being the main focus. Other meetings would be secondary to that same charity. Harold Moyer seconded the motion. All voted in favor. Announcements: none Thank hosts The Mills & Schuler for lunch. No cost. 50/50
Leroy Wright won the 50/50 for $10. Motorhome Experiences:
The Preissners had a tire blow on the way to the campout. The inside left tire blew, and he plans to invest in six new tires. He was also having a problem with a leaking roof. Next meeting date:
June 20-22 at Pocahontas hosted by the Youngs and Harmans. There being no further business Harold Moyer made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by
Leroy Wright, motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Leigh Anne Schuler
Secretary
