Notes from the Velers regarding Misty Mountain . It is in Crozet , VA. They have a room for us with tables & chairs, sink, stove, fridge, heaters. The sites are level and we have 15 reserved. Reservations must be made one month ahead of time. There is a $25 deposit. Cancellation policy is before one week without penalty. There is also free WiFi, 50 amp service, good TV reception and full hookups for $35/night.

Unfinished Business:

Donna Preissner & Cornelia Mills have the vests. Pat Veler has been asked to help with the part of the flag that needs custom embroidery done.

There may be a new idea for the location of the Rally for 2009. It was suggested to try and get the RIR Racetrack campground if the state fair is indeed moving. The theme could be changed to “Racin' to the Rally” and have a Nascar look and feel.

Gail suggested that Ad hoc committees be formed to delegate the tasks. We will need a separate treasurer from the club treasurer for the rally. Dan Young suggested talking to Shirley Johnson about how to handle that job. Harold Moyer suggested maybe having his Richmond Concert Band play at the rally for donations.

New Business:

We need to pick someone from our club to serve on the State.

Gene Veler has retyped the Dogwood Constitution & Bylaws and copies will be emailed to all.

Mary Wright suggested emailing the treasurers report vs. making hard copies.

State Advisory board suggestions : none

Announcements: Gene Veler made a sign out of an election voting sign. He showed us how you can spray paint the sign and get press on letters to make a lightweight marker for your campsite.

Introduce Guests: Mrs. Mary Wright, Leroy's mom.

Thank hosts The Youngs for lunch. Cost was $5.00/coach.

50/50

Dan Young won the 50/50 for $10.

Motorhome Experiences:

The Schulers have a new Navion IQ.

Gene Veler attended the Workhorse seminar and noted that in 2012 new emissions laws will go in to effect. None of the present gas engines will pass emissions and by 2012 all will be changed to diesel engines.

Next meeting date:

May 16-18 th at the Williamsburg Pottery Campground.

There being no further business, Dan Young made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by

Annette Boyette, motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,

Leigh Anne Schuler
Secretary
